Data & Compliance

Last updated: 1 July 2026

TalentLink+ is built to help employers screen and hire compliantly. This page explains the compliance framework behind our pre-screening portal and background-check process.

1. Legislative framework

Our platform is designed to support compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, and relevant state and territory employment and anti-discrimination law. [Add any industry-specific schemes relevant to your customers, e.g. NDIS Worker Screening, Working with Children Checks].

2. Checks we support

Identity verification, right-to-work status, national police checks, and reference checks — each initiated only with the candidate's explicit, recorded consent. [List any additional or industry-specific checks you offer].

3. Consent & audit trail

Every check request, consent and result is timestamped and logged, giving Customers a defensible audit trail for each hiring decision.

4. Data hosting & residency

Candidate and Customer data is hosted on servers located in Australia and is not transferred overseas. The one exception is our public website: enquiries sent through the contact form are relayed by an email provider that processes messages overseas before delivery to our Australian mailbox, and the site itself is served through a global content delivery network. No candidate or Customer records held in the portal are involved. See section 5 of our Privacy Policy for detail.

5. Security measures

We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and other standard security practices. No formal security certifications are currently held.

6. Data retention & deletion

We retain candidate and Customer data for 7 years, after which it is securely deleted or de-identified, unless a longer period is required by law.

7. Sub-processors

We do not currently use any sub-processors or third-party services to deliver our services. This section will be updated if that changes.

8. Data breach response

In the event of an eligible data breach, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

9. Questions
